Who we are
Hvaler Invest is a family-owned investment company, historically built on investments in Protector Forsikring ASA listed on Oslo Stock Exchange. Sverre Bjerkeli was co-founder of the company in 2004 and has acted as CEO the last 15 years, until his retirement in 2021. In this period the company has delivered 30% CAGR return to shareholders and 20% CAGR ROE. The company has grown organically to a volume around 6 billion NOK, with a HTD combined ratio at 92%. The story is based on creating a unique culture with cost leadership in the world and quality leadership in all markets at the same time.
Today Hvaler Invest will gradually diversify to a small list of investments. We are long term value investors only. Dividends are not necessary but prudent capital management is. A high focus on ESG is a necessity relative to any involvement from Hvaler Invest.
Sverre Bjerkeli could be available for investments and board positions in a few selected companies, typically medium sized, listed and if the investment opportunity and competence match looks good. Feel free to reach out if you have any ideas. Turnaround cases where the company is «forgotten by the investors» could also be of interest.
Sverre Bjerkeli is 62 years old and the majority owner of Hvaler Invest. Minority owners are Veronica Bjerkeli and David Bjerkeli. Fredrik Grøndahl is acting as manager of the company.
